Muntons has enlisted the help of nature by using reed beds to naturally filter water before it is discharged into the sea. Malting is very water intensive so at Muntons we work hard to reduce the amount of water we use and to make sure the water we discharge after use is treated to the highest standard. In Bridlington we have a novel way to complete the final part of the process. The £105,000 investment has also created a valuable breeding and food source environment for a range of reedbed birds, plants and insects. Local school children have visited the site to learn how industry can encourage biodiversity while still running a successful business.
